The Grand Opening of a Grand Concept

It's hard to capture video...of a live TV...especially with a room full of people who are celebrating a Grand Opening Event…so bear with the sound and image to focus on what is so grand!

Hope Drake, Agent Services Coordinator for Coldwell Banker Triad, Realtors Burlington office shares with us as we celebrate the grand opening of our new real estate office and new office concept-cafe style. But we aren’t talking food- more like a computer café with cushy chairs and lots of electronic toys. Walking into this “Mac’ed” out (yes, pun intended) techie yet cozy real estate office encourages a consumer to be right at home- just laze into a chair, enjoy some coffee and search for a house as you would at home.

Ribbon Cutting at Burlington's CBTR new cafe style office
located beside Panera Bread on Huffman Mill Rd.

Well, almost as you would at home…unless you have the customized search software implemented by Jan Sherman, CBTR IT Director at your disposal. Within a few clicks you feel as though you have gotten a crash course about Burlington and its surroundings. Consumers can search for anything from concert schedules, movie times, and helpful “how to” videos to oh, yes, homes-priced as low as $5,000 to as high as Bill Gates Money (I’m serious!). These results display nicely on either of the huge state-of-the art flat screen TVs. Although I can imagine if the office is busy enough that day, the daily news showcased on the 3rd flat screen can be replaced with more real estate related searches. I digress – you just have to visit this brainchild that Beverly Godfrey, President and CEO of CBTR has been developing for quite some time.

"Cake Pops" well done by Lisa Flynt, Burlington CBTR agent.
Too creative (and yummy) not to share!
Speaking of which, there is still much more to come...subscribe to our posts or follow so you can stay tuned! We will share a few details about the direction real estate is headed in this mobile revolution. This means adjusting to the changes in market demand by anticipating the needs of our customers, clients, and agents- e.g. our new café style real estate office.

Please take your first opportunity to come visit this office located at: 422 Huffman Mill Road, Suite 102 in Burlington, NC 27215.  Denise McGahan, proud Broker-In-Charge.

Want to know? Want to go?...to the Candle Tea!

Christmas time is upon us! Every city has its own traditions and one of Winston-Salem’s originates many years ago in Old Salem- the Candle Tea. For those of you who aren’t from here or do live in the Triad and know Old Salem but really don’t know Old Salem, this is a treat for us all. For you veterans, I hope you collaborate with me by sharing your thoughts at the end of this post.

Single Brothers' House where the Candle Tea will be held
Winston-Salem was the only community to ever be officially designated as a hyphenated name by the US Postal Service. In 1913, ‘Salem,’ meaning “peace,” merged with ‘Winston,’ named in 1849 to honor Colonel Joseph Winston- a war hero and legislator.

Salem was originally settled in 1766 by groups of Moravians from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as they began construction to build religious, economic and administrative centers. Old Salem was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1966 as approximately 70% of the buildings are original. It hosts a museum which showcases Moravian culture with live demonstrations by skilled interpreters such as tinsmiths, blacksmiths, cobblers, gunsmiths, bakers and carpenters. Old Salem’s living history museum truly is unique!
Home Moravian Church

Speaking of traditions, the Candle Tea is a tour through the Single Brothers’ House in the historic district of Old Salem. Sounds of jolly Christmas carols and scents of Moravian coffee will warm you on this guided visit put on by the Home Moravian Church Women's Fellowship. It is their only fundraiser hosting approximately 10,000 people and is completely volunteer run. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Join us in supporting the Home Moravian Church Women's Fellowship and dedicated volunteer Jim Baucom, one of our very own agents, in celebrating this Moravian tradition cordially known as the Candle Tea. Enjoy a cup of Moravian coffee and a piece of sugar cake as you come to understand what life was like for those who founded and lived in Salem.  Click here for the Candle Tea schedule.

“A Conversation” about Oak Valley-A Golf Community

On a late fall day, driving to visit Oak Valley- A Golf Community  for the first time, most would think “Golf, golf, golf” and envision their first hole-in-one. Part of Oak Valley’s 690 acres does boast a 200 acre golf course- and not just any golf course, but Arnold
Palmer’s ONLY Signature-Designed Golf Course in the Triad. Yes, golf is Oak Valley’s forte. But equate that thought to having dessert before dinner and you have eaten the cherry on top but you still need your “meat and potatoes.” Well, here you go.

Within minutes of Winston-Salem, one of America's Most Livable Communities, Oak Valley offers the convenience of accessing just about anything in a short drive. From boutique shopping, exquisite food, to the best in education and hospitals in North Carolina, Oak Valley is close to the heart of it all.

Speaking of which…have we mentioned the commute to Oak Valley? Driving is an afterthought. “Getting home” will make your senses heighten. It will make you want to memorize every color, shade and shadow of the wise resident trees lined on either side of Highway 801. As you turn into Oak Valley, your eyes dance across the trees magically placed upon the rolling hills and you can almost smell a crackling fall fire. This, too, can be enjoyed taking a stroll on neighborhood sidewalks.

As we have said, Oak Valley is not just golf, convenience and beauty. This golf community makes it difficult for you and your family to not enjoy yourself! Outdoor activities such as the neighborhood swimming pool, club house, children’s playground, basketball courts, recreational fields, scenic lakes, parks and landscaped areas are just down the street. Swim club, tennis club and golf club memberships are available. Oak Valley represents a championship lifestyle at its best. But we want you to decide this for yourself!

Who’s ready for the cherry on top?

Stay tuned for Oak Valley updates. To pick out your lot or for more information, call 336-659-3242 or visit www.CBTriad.com/OakValleyAGolfCommunity .

Enjoy your drive out to Oak Valley! Directions: I-40 west to Exit 180-A. Head South on Hwy 801. Turn Right at Oak Valley. Follow the signs for the specific neighborhoods.

Getting Started on Blogger

As we set out to begin posting on Blogger, it is CBTR's goal we will provide useful, interesting and fun information relating to life in and around the real estate industry. With that being said, anyone who currently works or has worked in the industry knows that means we have to familiarize ourselves with, oh, just about everything.

It is our sincere hope this blog will help provide information that will offer thought provoking material to make your frontal lobe sizzle, as well as furnish the "up for grabs" material that might make you take a stance, and then rejuvenate you with some light-hearted humor and fun facts!

Hopefully you will post your opinions and let us know what you think! Stay tuned as we begin to roll out CBTriad.Blogspot.com.
